Abstract:

The diagnosis of hearing loss requires a large number of investigations, not always able to establish the precise localization of the lesion and its ethiology. In the last years, intensive research has been performed to find new diagnostic methods, capable to resolve this inconvenient. A number of diagnostic methods have been discovered, the majority being efficient for the diagnosis of conductive hearing loss. One example is the laser Doppler vibrometry, which proved to be the most sensitive method for the positive and differential diagnosis of the conductive hearing loss. An efficient diagnostic method for sensorineural hearing loss is still in research.
