THE GERMAN ASSOCIATION OF ORAL IMPLANTOLOGY (Deutsche Gesellschaft for Zahnrztliche Implantologie – DGZI) was created in 1970 and, being the oldest Scientific Implantology Association in Europe, it has as its main goal promoting oral implantology developments and setting and consolidating rigorous performance criteria and good practice rules. There fore, the associations scientific committee holds curricular development programs, vocational training and masters degree courses, international annual congresses, surgery courses, it initiates and supports national and international research projects and awards prizes (http://www.dgzi.de).
