Abstract:

Reconstruction of the physiognomic function represents a permanent objective of the physician-dental technician team. Ceramic facets represent one of the modern therapeutical solutions agreed by the patients, as they cause a minimum sacrifice of the dental tissue, permitting an optimum recovery of the physiognomic function. Such a treatment permits correction of discoloured teeth, of the shape and position anomalies of the superior frontal teeth, on condition of a correct application of the terapeutical indications. In prosthetic restaurations, obtaining of the exact colour of the natural teeth is quite a difficult task; nevertheless, for reaching an optimum situation, certain conditions for recording of the chromatic parameters should be observed. The techniques of facet obtaining are quite diverse, selection of an optimum therapeutical situation being dependent on the knowledge of the advantages and disadvantages of each method, and also on the characteristics of the selected materials.
