Introduction. The partially amovible Valplast prosthesis, obtained in several clinical and technical
stages, requires a special concept in order to maintenance and stability elements, which should consider the value and position of implanting and, respectively, localization of the pillar teeth, type and topography of edentation, etc.
Materials and method. The aim of the study is to identifyan efficient method for a complete surgical elimination of the risk of affecting the mucous membrane of the prosthetic field, as well as to analyze the differences occurring between the shape and positioning of the maintenance and stability elements of the partially- flexible prostheses made of Valplast, and also considering the comfort of the patients using them.
Comparative clinical and technological investigations were carried on2groups of patients. The first group, including 17 cases, benefited from 17partially-flexible prostheses in mandibular position, while the 8 cases, making up the second group, made use of 8partial maxillary prostheses made of Valplast.
Results and discussion. The results of the study showed that mobile prosthetic restorations made of the polymeric material Valplast are more comfortable, better accepted and much better tolerated by patients.Prevention of possible traumatic lesions was analyzed versus their adaptability to various prosthetic fields, according to morphological topography.
