Nosocomial or intra-hospital infections, defined nowadays – by the Order of the Ministry of Health no.1101/2016 – as infections associated to medical assistance (IAAM) and identified in medical units all over the world, are generated by medical practice, so that they constitute an important aspect of public health by the morbidity, mortality, prolongued hospitalization periods and high costs they induce. The incidence and prevalence of IAAM are increasing all over the world, becoming an upsetting phenomenon. Among the clinico-epidemiological entities of IAAM., hematogenic infection (sepsis) occupies a main position, in both adults and children. Materials and methods. The present study involved a retrospective clinico-epidemiological investigation, performed at the ”Sf.
