Although no valid meta-analyses are available in this field, low urinary tract disfunction (LUTD) is considered as increasing in frequency, recording variations between 2-20%. The aim of the study is to assess the pattern of uroflowmetric curves in patients with lower urinary tract disorders before and after the treatment. Materials and methods. We analyzed 50 uroflowmetric curves obtained in 30 patients, aged between 4 and 14 years, presenting mictional disorders. Considered for analysis were the clinical parameters, the presence of risk factors, echographic parameters and the data obtained using the Mictional comp calendar. Results and discussion. Statistically significant differences were identified between sexes in LUTD occurrence in most of the patients (93%) with ages less than 6 years. The most common low urinary tract disfunction manifestations in the studied group were the bladder hyperactivity clinical syndrome (HAV) and the hypersensitive bladder a frigore. Non-monosymptomatic nocturnal bed-wetting has been associated with all cases that fall within bladder hyperactivity syndrome. Conclusions. Alongwith the mictional calendar and ultrasound measurements (BWT, RMP), uroflowmetria is a useful tool for a correct framing of low urinary tract disfunction and for tracking the response to the treatment.
