Abstract:

In order to test the local toxicity of the hydroalcoholic solution of Epilobium parviflorum Schreb, this was first dehydrated by means of a rotary evaporator with a vertical condenser, thus obtaining a dry vegetable extract with a concentration of 10 mg / mL. Twelve rats were used, divided into two groups six rats for each, an experimental and a control group. All animals were anesthetized, and dental anesthesia was injected locally. The upper incisors were extracted, and then sockets were filled with a dry vegetable extract of Epilobium parviflorum Schreb, while the control groups were left unfilled. The findings indicate that local application of dry vegetable extract of Epilobium parviflorum Schreb would effectively accelerate the healing process in rat’s teeth socket, without inducing any pathological changes. The results obtained support the study of the extract in human endodontic pathology.
