Electronic Nicotine vaping cigarettes (E-cigs) are spreading worldwide. Their popularity came as representing an alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes (T-cigs). Despite the recognition as a tool for smoking cessation and being a safer alternative, latest research showed their negative impact. On periodontal and peri-implant tissues, information on E-cigs effect is scarce. This review updates the available research regarding the different aspects of E-cigs vaping on periodontal and peri-implant tissues at clinical and microbial levels, in addition to periodontal treatment results in individuals using E-cig.
