Abstract:

The complexity of the aspects related to vitamin therapy in the treatment of cancerous and precancerous conditions located in the oral cavity, derived from several signs and symptoms associated with the multitude of factors involved in triggering the pathology of the oral cavity, creates premises for complementary studies aimed at understanding the mechanisms through which antioxidant vitamins intervene, leading to measures meant at optimizing the therapeutic algorithm. Combinations of various antioxidant nutrients have shown anticancer activity enhanced by the synergy in their action, which is probably due to the optimization of their anticancer activity at different oxidation-reduction potentials. Their main feature is selectivity in action for cancer cells, without affecting the normal ones.
