Abstract:

Conventional technologies for making full dentures are still widely used, due to their numberous advantages: low cost, easy working method, oral rehabilitation in acceptable conditions, being well-tolerated by patients. The main disadvantage of these prostheses is their poor stability, especially after a longer period of time. Therefore, prior application of implants at the level of the prosthetic area favors better retention and optimal stability, ensuring their longevity. The present study discusses the steps for the oral rehabilitation of a complete edentulous mandible, choosing as a treatment solution a fixed prosthesis implant support, using the All-on-4 system; an infrastructure of Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) was placed on these implants, followed by the application of zirconia crowns fixed by adhesive cementation. Screw-on mobilizable dental bridges provide extra safety over cemented bridges, while allowing access to the implant. This aggregation way also allows optimizations or repairs on the prosthesis, when the clinical situation requires them. The choice of prosthesis for a case of complete edentulism using the fixed version on implant support is much more functional and better accepted by patients. Implant bridges optimally restore the morphological parameters and highly reestablish the functions altered by edentation.
