Abstract:

The carpal tunnel syndrome has received special attention in recent years, due to its occurrence in people whose work involves repetitive hand activities, a condition often observed in dentists. The condition occurs because of the position of the dentist if the manipulation on patients is not ergonomic .The aim of the present study is to highlight the importance of physical therapy procedures in carpal tunnel syndrome. The present prospective and comparative study was conducted on 17 patients with CTS, analyzing the effects of the therapy in the beginning and end of the protocol. Through the recommended and correctly performed treatments and procedures, the physical recovery of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is effective and fast. As many dentists experience symptoms of this syndrome, such as paresthesia at work or pain in the upper extremity, finding an effective treatment is of major importance.
