Abstract:

Introduction. Oral surgical procedures are considered an important part of the broad scope of general dentistry, which include teeth extraction, suturing wounds, and biopsying of suspicious soft tissue lesions. Suturing is one of the most widely used methods. The aim of the present study is to assess the most common suturing technique used in the anterior teeth region. Materials and methods. Patient’s details were collected from the Hospital management system. 100 patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were selected for the study. Data was tabulated in a Microsoft Excel sheet and its analysis was performed using SPSS software. Results and discussion. Out of 100 patients, 9% of them were from the 20-30 and 30-40 age group, 14% – from the 40-50 age group and 6% – from the 50-60 age group. The most common suturing technique used was simple interrupted suturing. Conclusions. Among the various suturing techniques in use, the most common is simple interrupted suturing.
