Satisfaction with complete dentures is predefined by a set of objective and subjective factors. The aim of the present study was to analyze the relation between the time of using complete dentures, their functional fitness and the life quality of patients, as well as to establish patients’ awareness concerning the terms of use of their complete dentures. 120 patients who had been using complete dentures for different periods of time were examined. The research included three objectives: assessment of the life quality via the inquiry Oral health impact profile-14 (OHIP-14); examination of the status of complete dentures and patients’ awareness concerning the terms of use of complete dentures. A significant correlation was established between the terms of use of the dentures, their condition and the results via OHIP 14. The conclusion reached at was that the term of use of complete dentures is a factor of decisive significance for patient’s satisfaction. Large numbers of patients tend to use total dentures long after expiration of the actual terms of their functional fitness.
