Abstract:

rehabilitation of patients with significant atrophy of the upper jaw has not been fully studied. In particular, in the upper jaw, bone tissue atrophy is solved by an operation aimed at raising the bottom of the maxillary sinus through the administration of osteoplastic materials (sinus lifting operation). The success of this manoeuvre largely depends on the technique and type of osteoplastic material used. The properties, advantages and disadvantages of one or another type of osteoplastic material are described in a number of works performed by leading scientists. Thus, implantologists are faced with the task of finding out which of the osteoplastic materials is optimal for use in implantology practice during sinus lifting operations. The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy using multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells of adipose tissue during sinus-lifting operation. Materials and methods. The sinus-lifting operation was performed in 67 patients according to the traditional method however, depending on the subgroup  = under study, different osteoplastic materials were introduced into the bone window. Results and discussion. In patients of subgroup B, in whom Kolapan – L” + MMSC-AT (multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells of adipose tissue)  + PRP (platelet-rich plasma) was used during sinus lifting surgery, the absence of pain syndrome at the final stage of postoperative observation was recorded in 89.31% of them, a value 1.2 times (p<0.05) higher than in the operated persons from subgroup A. In the final postoperative stages, collateral oedema was absent in 98.47% of the operated patients from subgroup B, which exceeded the number of persons in subgroup A, where the bone defect was augmented by “Kolapan – L” 1.2 times (p<0.05). The absence of hyperemia oral mucosa was determined in the final postoperative follow-up period in 92.37% of patients of subgroup B, which was 1.3 times higher than the values in recorded in subgroup A – p<0.05. Conclusions. Analysis of the effectiveness of using osteoplastic materials for increasing the alveolar bone volume of the maxilla during sinus-lifting operation evidenced the advantages of utilizing “Kolapan – L” + MMSC-AT + PRP over “Kolapan – L”, as confirmed by data recording subjective and objective symptoms manifested postoperatively.
