Aim: To evaluate the ChatGPT ability of assisting dentists in writing chart notes. Materials and methods: A free version of ChatGPT 2023 was requested to provide chart notes for assumed dental cases and the result was analyzed. Results and discussion. Based on the information provided, the two responses delivered by AI were relatively accurate. However, “canal was instrumented up size 35 and taper 0.04 rotary instrument” is a clearer response than the one mentioned by AI. Conclusions. ChatGPT was able ,to produce initial dental chart notes quickly and easily. However, due to the general limitation of possible misinformation, all produced chart notes need to be validated by the dentist.
