Although a benign structure, the palatal torus morphology has a great importance in the treatment with complete denture. The shape and position can influence, in certain cases, the treatment plan, the pre-prosthetic steps and also the clinical and laboratory phases. The present review analyses the etiological factors of the maxillary palatal tori, their clinical aspect and the treatment possibilities.
