Nowadays, whitening of vital/nonvital teeth is a low- risk routine treatment for improving aesthetics. This paper’s goal is to present an overview thorough analysis of the available literature regarding the whitening procedures for non-vital and vital teeth in the office. A research of the data from in the Science Direct database regarding tooth whitening in vital and non-vital teeth was
conducted. Out of a total of 1,416 articles initially found using the keywords, only 4 review and 16 research articles were relevant for the term non-vital tooth whitening/ bleaching, 7 review and 24 research articles for the term vital whitening/bleaching, 11 review and 10 research articles for external tooth whitening/bleaching, and the fewest, 4 review and 7 research articles for internal toothwhitening/bleaching. Teeth whitening, whether for vital or non-vital teeth, has grown as one of the dental procedures that people most frequently desire. There is still a need to develop efficient, effective and long-lasting bleaching
procedures.
