Molar distalization is a method used to resolve class II malocclusions in order to correct distalized molar relationships, but it also represents an effective tool of arch lengthening and regaining space in cases of mesioposition of the first molars following caries or premature loss of decidous teeth. Based on a clinical case, the present study proposes the evaluation of a molar distalization method using a non‑compliance intraoral device, consisting of a vestibular NiTi spring placed on a continuous archwire. The inevitable loss of anchorage in the sagittal plane was in favor of the case that also required incisor proclination, while the vertical effects of the technique contributed to the correction of hypodivergence, without adverse aesthetic effects.
