Abstract:

Management of space problems, associated with the transition stages from temporary to permanent dentition, continues to play an important role in dental practice. The area represents a major interaction between generalist and specialist dentist pedodontics.
An important advantage of finite element analysis in premature loss of temporary molars is that it provides a lot of information on the normal and tangential tensile stresses arising in the system, thus identifying possible areas where efforts record exceeded allowable values and, therefore, cracks in the dental and bone structure occur.
The here proposed model allows a better understanding, by means of colour fields, of the changes occurring in the supporting areas for premature loss of temporary molars, and it can motivate parent and child understand the need and importance of treatment for this condition.
Based on this study, a new benchmark in planning treatments for the premature loss of deciduous molars can be developed, as well as a clinically treatment applicable to individual cases, by simulating virtual space maintainer choice movements and stress analysis.
