Abstract:

Halitosis represents a common disease, believed to affect one quarter of the world population; most of the
patients claim it to be occasionally. Because of olfactive sense adaptation most of the persons with halitosis are not aware of its presence. Dental practitioners didn’t have a big interest in halitosis although it is a very common disease. Studies were conducted on halitosis because of the rise of public interest on this; bad breath representing a social disorder. Self-evaluation represents a subjective way of diagnosis, but it can be accurate under professional guidance. We tried to conduct a study concerning self-evaluation on a compact group in order to determinate the level of knowledge and medical (dental) education of teenagers.
