Among these, Gelfoam (Pharmacia) is one of the most common agents used for minor bleeding control, being a porous sponge, foldable, made of gelatinous extracted from dried and sterilised porcine skin, and Act (Johnson & Johnson), a resorbable material based on oxidised cellulosed, expensive, but very useful in oral surgery procedures.
