This article presents the reflections of the contemporary world on death based on biblical, patristic and scientific arguments, as well as the psychological and spiritual premises in the assistance of a dignified death. The theological consciousness calls for the assumed terminal sufferings which become holy and they have to be respected and treated humanely; they can be humanized by the support we offer to those who are near us in accepting a dignified death. In this sense, it is the man’s duty to value life and prepare death at every moment. The dignified death of each person obliges us from a medical, moral and theological point of view, to accompany the one suffering through love, compassion and faith up the last moment.
