Introduction: The study was conducted to highlight the percentual correlation between certain facial and dental parameters with a determinant role in the aesthetic aspect of complete dentures. Materials and methods: A retrospective study was conducted in the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dental Medicine, “Iuliu Hatieganu” University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to analize some dentofacial parameters, such as: facial morphology, shape of the maxillary frontal teeth, direction of incisal edge of the superior frontal teeth, placement of the zenith point with respect to the ideal position. Results and discussion: Most of the total number of 175 completely edentulous patients had a rectangular/ square facial shape. The correspondence between the shape of the upper incisor and that of the face recorded a low percentage (39.4%). Placement of the zenith point at the maxillary incisor was made in the ideal position only in 38.5% of the cases. Conclusions: The objective to achieve is to obtain a personalized prosthesis in harmony with patient’s facial morphology.
