Introduction: The treatment of decayed primary anterior teeth is one of the largest issues in paediatric dentistry, due to the growing demand for aesthetics from both parents and their children. The aesthetic concerns are usually met by the simplicity of strip crowns, which have been compared with a novel zirconia crown on primary anterior teeth.Aim: To assess the clinical success and parental satisfaction of the novel Kedo Zr crowns against the strip crowns in primary anterior maxillary teeth.Materials and methods: Twenty strip crowns and twenty Kedo Zr crowns were included in the study for children of 3-5 years. Children having undergone pulp therapy in primary maxillary anteriors were included. Assessment of clinical success was done at the baseline, after 3, 6 and 12 months. Parental and child satisfaction assessment was done at the baseline, after 12 months, using a likert scale. The Mann Whitney U test is used to determine a possible difference in the means of ordinal variables between 2 groups at p 0.05, the Friedman test being used to evaluate all parameters for all timelines intra-groups. Results and discussion: All Kedo Zr crowns were intact at 1 year evaluation, but only 75% of the strip crowns were intact. Both parents and children were completely satisfied with zirconia crowns, but only 40-75% of the parents and 40% of the children were satisfied with strip crowns at the end of 1 year. Conclusions: In primary maxillary anteriors, Kedo Zr is an excellent option to restore the tooth. Future studies are needed to compare different brands of paediatric zirconia crowns
